New Virtual Simulator for Studying Internal Combustion Engines — An Innovative Educational Tool

We are pleased to introduce the EM_BASE virtual simulator with the “Automobile Internal Combustion Engines” module, designed for in-depth learning of the internal structure, design, and technical features of various types of internal combustion engines (ICEs) used in automotive engineering, within a software environment.

The module features detailed, animated, and interactive 3D models that can be disassembled and assembled, along with comprehensive information about the following engine types:

  • Inline four-cylinder engine.
  • Opposed four-cylinder engine.
  • V-shaped six-cylinder engine.

In virtual reality, users can perform disassembly and assembly of the selected engine model, explore individual mechanisms and systems within the ICE, and examine their operation as part of the engine. Users can also test their knowledge through built-in quizzes.

The program offers two main modes of operation:

  • Free exploration mode, allowing users to independently investigate the engine and its components;
  • Guided study mode, focused on specific systems and mechanisms.

Additionally, there is an auto-disassembly mode, demonstrating the step-by-step process of engine disassembly with indications of each component.

In coordination with the customer, the virtual simulator can be equipped with VR glasses to enhance immersive learning in virtual reality.

This innovative tool significantly improves the effectiveness of studying internal combustion engines through visual clarity, interactivity, and ease of use.
