The demonstration model NTC-13.09.1 “Worm gear” is designed as a visual aid for studying features of composition (worm pair, bearing units, adjusting elements, housing design) and principle of operation of worm gears. It allows seeing worm gear during operation and practically estimating the difference between applied torques on the input and output shafts by applying the forces created by hand on the flywheel.
The model will be useful in the study of many special subjects, as worm gears are widely used in motor car construction, machine-tool construction and lifting equipment construction.
The model consists of a real worm reduction gear installed on the aluminum frame with soft legs. The gearbox has a section of the body in order to provide easy access to the elements of design.
