The training laboratory stand is intended to perform laboratory works on ‘’Hydraulics’’ at secondary specialized colleges and higher education establishments.

The stand has a frame design. The frame has three hydraulic tanks, a tray, a pump station and connecting valves. One of the side walls of the tray is made of organic glass with a grid allowing to measure coordinates of the outflowing jet.

The stand accommodates:

  • a plate with a small orifice in a thin wall;
  • external nozzles:
    • cylindrical,
    • conoidal,
    • converging conical,
    • diverging conical. 

One of the nozzles is removable, which allows to install and test other types of nozzles.

The measuring system of the stand allows measuring geodetic pressure head, vacuum at the nozzle inlet, flow and diameter of the discharging jet.

The stand has a closed water circulation system that doesn’t require a connection to water supply and drain system.

The laboratory stand is accompanied by a set of guides and technical documentation for the teaching personnel.

Experiments provided

  1. Outflow and resistance coefficients determining of a small hole in a thin wall.
    This laboratory work is for contraction, – flow, – speed and resistance coefficient determining.
  2. Outflowing through a small orifice in a thin wall at constant head.
    The present laboratory work is for studying the flow rate dependence on the Reynolds number.
  3. Outflowing through a small orifice in a thin wall at variable head.
    In laboratory work is experimentally determined the time of partial emptying a prismatic reservoir.
  4. Efflux through nozzles.
    Four nozzles are the object under study:
    – external cylindrical nozzle,
    – conoidal nozzle,
    – converging conical nozzle,
    – diverging conical nozzle.
