The training laboratory stand allows:

  • Simulating three types of grounding electrodes – horizontal tubular, lying on the surface of the ground, vertical tubular, and a hemisphere immersed in the ground.
  • Modeling several types of soil.

The stand is designed as a desktop panel device.

On the front panel of the stand, the following components are installed:

  • Voltmeter.
  • Ammeter.
  • Grounding electrode type selector switch.
  • Soil resistivity selector switch.
  • Short-circuit current regulator.
  • Measurement sockets.

On the back side of the stand, the following components are installed:

  • Power cord.
  • Power switch.
  • Fuse.

The stand comes with a set of teaching materials and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff.

Experiments provided

  1. Study of potential distribution over the surface of the ground.
  2. Investigation of the “step voltage” phenomenon during phase-to-ground faults.
  3. Study of touch voltage at various distances from the grounding electrode.
