The training laboratory unit is designed for demonstration of angular momentum conservation law to vertically fixed axis.
The unit consists of a metal base frame on adjustable supports, U-type rotating frame, horizontal axis fixed in the frame and plummets, rotating about the axis.
All parts are coated with a decorative protective layer (powder paint or galvanic plating).
When the axis, which connects 2 round plummets, is in vertical position, the frame possesses minimal inertia moment to central vertical axis. When in horizontal position, the frame possesses maximum inertia moment. If we impart the plummets rotation about a horizontal axis and spin the frame, then an irregular motion (slowing down-accelerating) of the frame appears about a vertical axis. Depending on the rotational speed of the frame(about a vertical axis) to the plummets’ speed (about a horizontal axis) ratio, different motion patterns are observed. If the rotation of the frame (about a vertical axis) is quite slow, we can observe the irregular motion about a vertical axis without measurement instruments.
