The demonstration model NTC-13.09.2 “Cylindrical gear” is designed as a visual aid for studying features of composition (cog-wheels, bearing units, adjusting elements, housing design) and principle of operation of cylindrical reduction gears. It allows seeing helical gear during operation and practically estimating the difference between applied torques on the input and output shafts by applying the forces created by hand on the flywheel.
Cylindrical gears are widely used in machinery construction, motor car construction, in drives using shafts (mixers, extruders, grinders, metal working machines, etc.) Consequently the demonstration model will be useful in the study of many special subjects.
The model consists of a real worm reduction gear installed on the aluminum frame with soft legs. The gearbox has a section of the body in order to provide easy access to the elements of design.
