The laboratory stand is designed for carrying out laboratory works studying “Strength of materials” of technical mechanics course at higher technical educational institutions of non-machine-building specialization and at secondary educational institutions of machine-building and instrument-making specializations. The stand allows to determine modulus of rigidity under torsion created by loading of a shaft with different weights, to investigate tension of rods under torsion. Shifts of a loaded shaft are measured with dial gauge indicator.
Structurally, the stand is made in the form of a prefabricated base, on the bracket of which a cylindrical rod is rigidly fixed with the right end. A bracket is mounted on the left end of the shaft, which can be loaded with a load. In the central part of the stand there is a goniometer based on an indicator head of the watch type, which allows measuring the angle of twist of the rod.
