The training system is designed to be used as a teaching facility for secondary, higher and vocational educational institutions.

The training system allows to determine the characteristics of hydraulic resistances (pipeline, diaphragm, full-flow valve), as well as to explore various types of water hammer in the pipeline (full, incomplete, direct, indirect, positive, negative). The training system also allows to investigate various technical solutions designed to attenuate water hammer.
Information-measuring system allows to determine the pressure at various points in the system (six electronic sensors, pressure gauge), flow rates (using high-speed flow meters), fluid temperature, fluid flow rates at different points in the system.
The training system is supplied with a set of methodological and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff.
Experiments provided
- The study of pressure losses along the length under various modes of fluid flow. Determination of Darcy coefficient.
- The study of pressure losses during fluid flow through a local resistance – diaphragm.
- The study of pressure losses during the flow of fluid through local resistance – a ball valve with different openings.
- The study of the nature of pressure changes in the pressure pipe during water hammer (valve closing at the pipe outlet). Determination of shock pressure. Experimental verification of Zhukovsky equation.
- The study of the nature of pressure changes in the pressure pipe while locking two valves at the inlet and outlet of the pipeline.
- The study of the nature of pressure changes in the pressure pipe during water hammer with incomplete valve closing at the outlet.
- Investigation of the characteristics of pressure changes during negative water hammer.
- The study of the effectiveness of technical solutions to reduce water hammer.
