The present training laboratory equipment is intended for using it at secondary specialized colleges and higher education establishments for performing laboratory classes.

This training equipment provides following experiments:

  • To study design and escalator operating principles;
  • Get skills of programming the Logic controller;
  • Review and edit escalator control programs via computer.

Structurally, the training laboratory equipment contains:
  • actual escalator model;
  • control panel.

Control panel is comprised of a body made from aluminium profile with mounted electric equipment, electronic cards, front panel and a table board of integrated working table.

Control unit body has mounted the following electrical items:

  • power supply unit +15В и +24В;
  • communication card with PC;
  • microprocessor-based instrument;
  • relay unit;
  • magnetic starter unit;
  • transformer unit.

On the front panel are placed:

  • incoming switch;
  • programmable logic controller (PLC);
  • faults introduction switches;
  • switchboard with power and control electric equipment;
  • USB-connector for setting the microprocessor-based instrument;
  • USB-connector for PC connection.

The actual escalator model has been made as a frame construction from aluminium profile with mounted on it general and auxiliary driven mechanisms and a shoe type brake. All moving parts are protected with transparent polycarbonate screens. For studying purpose of mechanisms there are double pivoted doors.

The model can be controlled both from the stand front panel and local control stations placed at the model itself.

The training laboratory equipment is accompanied with:

  • a set of methodical and technical guides for teaching stuff;
  • PLC software;
  • a software for performing the labs at dialogue mode via PC.

Experiments provided

  1. Studying the escalator model operation at mode «Operation».
  2. Studying the escalator model operation at mode «Repairs».
  3. Studying programming the actual escalator control system.
