The training laboratory equipment is designed for using it as a training equipment at secondary specialized colleges and higher education establishments to perform laboratory works for studying the gas moving modes in gas pipelines of different kind of complexity, configuration and various characteristics as part of a gas cooling system.

Structurally the stand consists of a body and a mobile table.

At the housing are mounted a front panel and bottom support parts with installed plates with receiver (20 l). Inside the housing there is electrical equipment, a measurement system, a power source and pipelines with fittings, fittings and sensors for pressure, temperature and air flow, a power supply +12V, 1А, transformers ОСМ1-0,1 and ОСМ1-0,063.

The system of pipelines and fittings allows you to include and remove the characteristics of various pipelines, included separately, in parallel or in series; a single-line gas pipeline with line sampling and pumping; complex gas pipelines; pipelines with looping; pipelines with jumpers; gas cooling process.

The front panel contains a port for supplying compressed air from a compressor and a receiver (500 l), a mains switch, air heating and cooling controls, handles for distributors, valves, throttles and pressure regulators, measurement system indicators, pressure gauges, a gas meter and a connector for connecting to PC (USB).

The mobile table is designed to accommodate a laptop that receives an array of measured data via the USB interface.

The training module is supplied with:

  • a set of methodological and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff;
  • software.

Experiments provided

  1. Investigation of gas movement modes and gas pipeline temperature regime. Determination of gas pipelines hydraulic resistance coefficient. Determination of the efficiency factor of a gas pipeline.
  2. Investigation of the operation modes of complex gas pipelines. Investigation of the single-strand gas pipeline operation modes with off-take and pumping.
  3. Investigation of changes in gas pipeline operation modes at periodic discharge and pumping.
  4. Investigation of the operation modes of the parallel and series connected gas pipelines.
  5. Investigation of gas pipelines capacity increase by means of looping.
  6. Investigation of jumper efficiency.
  7. Optimization of joint operation of a gas cooling unit and a main gas pipeline.
  8. Experimental determination of the rated characteristics of gas air-cooling units on main gas pipelines.
