The training laboratory equipment is dedicated for studying the basic application of fiberoptic cables, different ways of their switching and measuring parameters of optical signal.

Structurally, the training system consists of the case with installed electrical equipment, front panel and countertop integrated desktop.

Has two h/w versions: full size bench top version and table version.

At the front panel of the training laboratory equipment are fixed:

compensation optics with different types (SM and MM) and length (1000 and 200 m) opto-fibers;
radius curve setting mechanism of fiberoptic line;
strips with optical sockets for connecting fiber optic cables.

At the right part of the front panel are fixed two optical cross-connects with installed attenuators, splitters and patch cords.

The training system is supplied with technical and methodical documentation for teaching staff.

Study of work of visible radiation source and optical power meter.
Study of work of optical fiber damage detector and its usage for fault tracing in optical line, optical fiber critical curve visual detection.
Qualitative investigation of parameters of optical fiber.
Experimental measurement of losses injected by the curved area of fiber-optic lightguide on different wavelengths.
Experimental measurement of losses injected by the curved area of fiber-optic lightguide with various bending radiuses.
Study of optical connectors.
Study of optical attenuators.
Study of optical power splitters.
Measurement of dependence of fiber-optiс lightguide attenuation on its length.
Study of numerical aperture in fiber-optic systems.
