Structurally, the training laboratory equipment consists of a heating unit and measurer-regulator.
A thick-walled metal cylinder is fixed at the metal base of the unit with located the heating element. A temperature pickup is used to measure temperature. The signal from the temperature sensor is fed to the analog-to-digital converter of the meter-regulator and is recorded in degrees Celsius. According to the temperature difference between the heating element and the tube walls, the student determines the coefficient of thermal conductivity.
At the front panel of measurer-regulator are placed:
- temperature indicator;
- heater current/voltage indicator;
- switch of the measured parameter (current/voltage) on the heater.
The stand is accompanied with:
- a set of teaching materials and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff;
- software processes multiple measurement data and displays the information in a graph. The physical process is accompanied by animation in real time. The results of each measurement are entered in a comparison table.
