Structurally, the training laboratory equipment is made in a desktop version and consists of a control unit and a test facility. The installation is designed for short-term testing of samples of insulating materials for electrical strength before breakdown.

The test samples are placed in the working area of the test setup between a fixed flat electrode and one of the four replaceable electrodes.

The shape of the replaceable electrodes: cylindrical, spherical, hemispherical and cone 1200. The electrodes are changed by rotating the mechanism. The working area is closed with a transparent protective top equipped with locking devices that ensure safe research. A high-voltage meter is built into the body of the test facility. The control unit provides power to the high voltage source located in the test facility. The tension and thickness of the specimens is controlled by means of measuring devices

The training laboratory equipment is supplied with technical and methodical documentation for teaching staff.
