The present unit is made in the form of an aluminum base, on which are fixed the following elements with brackets:
- radiation source with a set of light filters;
- a lens with a plate (a set of “Newton’s Rings”);
- converging lens;
- projection screen.
The radiation source is an LED emitter with a Fresnel lens for focusing the light beam. The bracket of a pair of lenses with a plate (a set of “Newton’s Rings”) rotates around a vertical axis to direct the reflected beam onto the screen. Light, passing through the lens and reflected from the boundaries of the thin plate, interferes, forming rings that are projected on the plate. For performing the experiment in reflected light are additionally used a converging lens and a screen on supporting elements.
The stand is accompanied with a set of teaching materials and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff.
