Training laboratory bench is designed for conducting labs in “Strength of materials” at universities and secondary educational institutions.

Structurally, the training laboratory equipment consists of measuring unit and a table with assembled plate with grooves for fixing the replicable racks and fixtures.

Measuring unit is represented as a REA housing with mounted inside:

power supply unit;
strain measurement plug-in board;
PC communication plug-in board.

At the front panel of measuring unit are placed button switch and USB – port for connection to the PC. At the back panel are placed connectors for connecting sensors and power supply.

The stand is accompanied with a set of samples for testing and a storage unit for their placement.

Before performing the laboratory work, prepare a stand by installing the necessary sample for testing. Samples for measurements with strain gauges are connected directly to the measurement unit. Deformation of samples without strain gauges is recorded by measuring heads with electronic indication. Force pick up is also connected to the measurement unit.

The stand is accompanied with:

a set of teaching materials and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff;
software.

Determining the longitudinal elastic modulus and transverse deformation coefficient.
Studying the eccentric stretching.
Studying stresses in a rod of high curvature.
Determination of the shear modulus.
Studying the stress-strained state in a flat frame.
Studying the nature of stress distributions in the area where is located the concentrator and determination of the concentration coefficient.
Determination of the support reaction value for a statically indeterminate beam.
Studying the stresses during oblique bending.
Testing a thin-walled open profile rod for bending and torsion.
Studying the rod operation at longitudinal-transverse bending.
Checking the validity of Hooke’s law and the linear law of distribution of normal stresses in the cross section of a beam during bending.
Studying the stress-strain state of a cantilever rod of equal bending resistance.
Determination of the principal stresses during torsion and under the combined action of bending and torsion.
