- Audio and video materials for safety instruction during training sessions in the laboratory.
- Theoretical materials for preparing students for the profession of “Elevator Electromechanic” in vocational education institutions.
- Knowledge assessment quizzes based on the theoretical training.
- Multimedia interactive 3D models of an elevator, escalator, and travelator.
- An interactive elevator model in virtual reality for the PICO 4 or PICO 4 Ultra headset.
- Examination materials for the preparation or conduction of a qualification exam for the profession of “Elevator Electromechanic.”
In remote learning conditions, the virtual simulator allows for studying the full course of the discipline “Elevator Construction, Maintenance, and Repair” and conducting laboratory-practical classes using interactive virtual 3D models of elevators, escalators, and travelators.
The theoretical materials are supplemented with animated videos and multimedia content on relevant topics. After each section, users are offered to reinforce their knowledge with a test embedded in the program.
Interactive 3D models enable studying the layout and design of elevator and escalator components, as well as modeling malfunctions in their operation.
In the VR version, the elevator is additionally implemented as a separate VR application. The learner wearing the headset is inside the elevator installation at life size: the machine room, shaft, pit, cabin, and the elevator control station. The equipment operates as in the 3D model on the monitor: the same station modes, indicators, and fault simulation. However, the following actions are performed manually: switching toggle switches and buttons at the station, pressing command buttons in the cabin, turning the winch wheel, removing a component and returning it to its place. The escalator, moving walkway, theoretical course, tests, and exams remain in their usual form on the monitor screen.
Upon completing the theoretical part, a qualifying exam is available.
The virtual simulator can be used as a standalone product or as part of the “Operation and Maintenance of Lifting and Transport Equipment” stand-alone laboratory complex (see more details)).
To operate the VR component, a PICO 4 or PICO 4 Ultra headset and a computer meeting the system requirements are required. The other sections of the headset trainer do not require any additional equipment.
The virtual simulator is licensed software.
