The main element of the curcuit is two-electrode valve with cylindrical anode, which consists of three metallic cylinders of the same size. Left and right cylinders are electrically insulated from the middle one with gaps, and they are used for middle cylinder egde effect elimination. Milliamperemeter is connected to middle cylinder in order to measure anode current.
Thin tungsten wire tightened along three anodic system cylinders’ axis is used as a cathode. DC voltage is supplied to lamp anode. Cathode is heated by alternating current created by stabilized source. The lamp is located in the uniform magnetic field created by Helmholtz coils. Adjustment of the magnetic field is realised using the power source with current stabilisation.
The stand is accompanied with a set of teaching materials and technical documentation intended for the teaching staff.
